Freshman forward Michael Collins (San Antonio, Texas) scored two goals, including the game-winner with three minutes remaining, as Nova Southeastern University defeated Northwood University 3-2 on Tuesday evening at the NSU Soccer Complex. Sophomore midfielders Rich Bodek (Colonia, N.J.) and Corey Sheriff (Coral Springs, Fla.) assisted on the game winner for NSU.
Freshman midfielder Romain Onteniente (Saint Laurent du Var, France)opened the scoring 33 minutes into the match by converting a penalty kick. Northwood University responded half-way through the second half when they scored two goal in four minutes to take a 2-1 lead before Collins provided the heroics for the Sharks in the final minutes.
NSU outshot Northwood 15-10 in the match.
The Sharks improve to 8-5-2 on the season with the victory. NSU has one regular season game remaining on Friday, October 20th at 7 p.m. vs. Florida Tech. The seven seniors on the 2006 squad will be honored before the game.
